Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any Shopify experience to get started?
No. We set everything up for you, and Growth and Empire plans include live training so you know how to manage your own store afterwards. Launch clients get written guidance to get comfortable with the basics.
What happens after my support period ends?
Your store is yours to keep. If you need further help down the line, you can book any of the à la carte services below, or a monthly maintenance plan for ongoing support.
Can I upgrade from Launch to Growth or Empire later?
Yes. You only pay the difference in scope — we don't make you start over from scratch.
Do I need to buy Shopify separately?
Yes — Shopify's own subscription (from around R720/month) is billed directly by Shopify once your store is handed over. See the note below for details. This is separate from our build fee.
I already have a store — can I still get help?
Yes. Check the à la carte section above for one-off services like training, product uploads, feature installs, or ongoing maintenance.
How many builds do you take on at once?
To protect quality and turnaround, I take on a limited number of full builds each month — enquire early to lock in your month.
A Note on Shopify Costs
DuMey Webworks handles the design, build and setup of your Shopify store. Once your store is complete and handed over, you will need an active Shopify subscription to keep it running and accept orders — this is billed directly by Shopify (currently from around R720/month on the Basic plan, ZAR pricing, billed in USD-equivalent). This subscription is entirely separate from our build fee and is a direct agreement between you and Shopify.
